Why do we Cycle for Hope?
Each year, thousands of our neighbors, friends and family in the Lubbock area are touched by the professional care of the Celebrate Today fund and Southwest Cancer Center.
The SWCC’s Patient Advisory Committee established the “Celebrate Today” fund to help individual patients cover the cost of patient care items such as wigs, lymphedema sleeves and transportation. Your generous contributions all help to sustain this fund.'
UMC’s Celebrate Today fund helps cancer patients address needs that sometimes slip through the cracks. The fund was established in 2009 by Donnie and Stephanie Allison while Donnie battled cancer at UMC. The Allison's said they were blessed to have the support of friends and family in Lubbock, but knew others were not so fortunate. Celebrate Today continues to help patients after Donnie's death. You can help support his vision!
UMC’s Southwest Cancer Center is the premier cancer center in the region. In collaboration with the oncology experts at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, the SWCC offers the most advanced cancer care including chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical oncology and bone marrow transplant.
The Cycle for Hope Planning Committee believes that our 2015 goal of $25,000 is within reach, but we must have your help to achieve this goal. Please take a few minutes to consider registering to participate in this years event or becoming one of our wonderful sponsors. Together we can support the Celebrate Today Fund in providing the best care for our patients at the Southwest Cancer Center and work to make a lasting impact in Lubbock and the surrounding area.
